K2 Phonics

  Week 10 (November 2nd to November 6th) Friday, October 30th Greetings, everyone! What a fun week we had with all of our Halloween activities! Everyone looked amazing in their costumes, and we had such a great time celebrating together! We wrapped up our first reader, Sam and the Cat , and continued working in our phonics books. This week, we focused on the short vowel “i” and practiced the sounds “ig,” “ill,” and “id.” Next week, we will review the short vowel “i” before starting our new reader, Ted's Egg . With all the short weeks, Halloween activities, and typhoon days, we have a little catching up to do, but we've got this! We will keep working hard and making progress together.   Week 9 (October 27th to October 30th) Friday October 23rd Greetings, everyone! Another week is in the books! This week, we began learning the short vowel “i” sound and enjoyed some fun Halloween songs and rhymes. Next week, we'll need to work extra hard to get through “ill” and “id” word families and review our phonics reader, Sam and the Cat . With Monday being a holiday and our Halloween celebration taking place on Thursday, we'll have a busy week ahead!   Week 8 (October 19th to October 23rd)  Friday October 16th Greetings, everyone! This week, we completed our review of the short vowel “e” and finished the final pages of our reader, Sam and the Cat . Next week, we will begin reviewing Sam and the Cat while also introducing the short vowel “i” on pages 30–33 of our Phonics book. Have a wonderful weekend! 😊                                                                                                         

  Week 7 (October 12th to October 16th) Thursday October 8th Greetings! Another week is in the books! With all of these long weekends, we have been missing a few class days, but we are staying right on schedule. Next week, we will continue reading our phonics reader, “Sam and the Cat.” We will also have our second review week for the phonics vowel short e , working on pages 26–29. Have a wonderful weekend, and have a happy and safe National Day! 🎉                                                                                                  

  Week 6 (October 5th to October 8th) Friday October 2nd  Greetings to everyone! We had a short week, but the students worked hard and did a great job! This week, we began working with the short vowel “e” and the “-en” word family. Next week, we will continue our phonics practice with “-ell” and “-ed” and continue reading our phonics reader, Sam and the Cat . Have a wonderful weekend!   Week 5 (September 29th to October 2nd) Thursday September 24th Greetings, everyone! We had another fun and productive week in phonics class! The students have finished learning about the short vowel a , and next week we will begin working with the short vowel e . The students have been working hard and doing a great job learning their sounds and words. Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! 🌕🥮 I hope everyone has a safe, relaxing, and fun long weekend.   Week 4 (September 21st to 24th) Friday September 18th Greetings, Kindergarten Families! We had another fun week in phonics class! The students worked hard on our word families “-ad” and “-at” and enjoyed reading our phonics reader, Sam and the Cat . Next week, we will review the word families “-am,” “-ad,” and “-at” and continue reading more of Sam and the Cat . Have a wonderful weekend!
