In addition to reviewing short vowels, we’ll be learning final consonant blends and beginning consonant blends. Students will learn to read and identify vocabulary with the consonant blends. We’ll also use rhyming to teach word families and help them improve oral language skills.   Students will learn to read stories with some of the target vocabulary and see how the vocabulary is used in context. They will learn to answer some simple questions about the stories and give short answers.
